Think Outside the Jar
Anna Dhody is an experienced physical and forensic anthropologist. During her tenure at the Mütter Museum, she has curated exhibits including Grimms’ Anatomy, The Evolution of Birth, Reading the Dead, and The Mütter Ossuary. She has also collaborated with scholars from around the world to conduct research on the Mütter’s collection. Anna is the author of “The Underground Crime Scene: The Use of Archaeological Excavation Techniques in the Recovery of Buried Crime Scene Evidence,” a manual currently used by law enforcement agencies in several countries. She has been invited to advise other institutions on the creation of medical museums in Barbados and Texas.
Mütter Museum
Having been curator of the Mütter Museum since 2007, Anna has deep experience managing collections, curating exhibitions, and serving as project manager for multiple international research endeavors.
Arch Street Project
Anna is one of the originating principle investigators on the Arch Street Project, which started with one box of bones, and has expanded to include more than 491 individuals, rescued from an historic cemetery in Center City Philadelphia.
